Al pastor

The taco al pastor is a popular in Mexico Taco kind of pork and is native to central Mexico. She has probably developed from the Arabic meat dish shawarma, which was once brought by Lebanese immigrants to Mexico. Tacos al pastor is broadly similar to the Turkish doner kebab or Greek gyros. The name of this court is Spanish and translates as much as Taco to " Schäferart ".

Preparation

The pork is one to two days placed in a marinade of dried chili and achiote and then cooked like a kebab with an open flame on a rotating spit. The upper end of this spit is usually peppered with fresh onions and pineapple. When the meat is finished cooking, it is cut with a large knife from the thin spit down. It is placed in small corn tortillas and garnished with finely chopped onions, cilantro and pineapple. Depending on the flavor of the taco al pastor is then seasoned with lime juice and even chili sauce.
