Alain Maury

Alain Maury (born 1958 ) is a French astronomer and discoverer of asteroids.

In the period from 1980 to 1990, he discovered a total of 9 asteroids, partly during his participation in the OCA -DLR Asteroid Survey ( ODAS ).

He is also the discoverer of the periodic comets 115P/Maury as well as the co-discoverer of comet C/1988 C1 non-periodic ( Maury - Phinney ).

Since 2003 he runs with his wife Alejandra his own observatory in the ayllu Solor in the oasis of San Pedro de Atacama in northern Chile. There are on the two introductory courses for visitors.

Honors

The asteroid ( 3780 ) Maury was named after him.
