Alain N'Kong

Alain Nkong ( born April 6, 1979 in Yaoundé ) is a Cameroonian footballer who plays for Coton Sport Garoua in Cameroon.

Nkong was early in his career worldwide at various clubs under contract - including in Spain at UD Las Palmas, in Uruguay at Nacional Montevideo and in Portugal at FC Paços de Ferreira. He represented Cameroon in various youth national teams and made his debut in the national team at the 2001 World Cup qualifiers in 2002.

Before the 2005 season Nkong signed a contract with the Colorado Rapids in the Major League. Despite a successful season he was released there in November 2005. In August 2006 he returned to the Colorado Rapids, but was dropped from the squad again at the end of the season. He then joined the CF Atlante. Nkong is the first African player who won a championship title in Mexico - with Atlante.

In Africa Championship 2008 Nkong belonged to the Cameroon squad and shot his team with its 1-0 win over hosts Ghana to the final.
