Alain Sutter
Alain Sutter ( born January 22, 1968 in Bern ) is a former Swiss football player.
Career
Clubs
At 17, Sutter belonged to the squad of the Swiss first division club Grasshoppers Zurich where he was from 1985 to 1993 under contract for one season - on loan - for Young Boys Bern was active. After winning four national titles Sutter moved to the 1993/94 season to Germany for 1.FC Nürnberg. On August 6, 1993 ( 1st Round ) Sutter debuted in the Bundesliga, as the " Club" with 2:5 goals was inferior at Hamburger SV. His first goal he succeeded on 22 October 1993 ( 13th Round ) in the 5-0 victory at home to VfB Leipzig with the results for the interim 4-0. With 29 missions and 5 hits but he could not prevent the descent of his team in the second Bundesliga and moved in 1994 to Bayern Munich. For the Bundesliga side SC Freiburg, he denied ( 10 Matchday) on October 21, 1995 to April 12, 1997 (27th Round ) 45 league games, scoring five goals and has also been used three times in games for the national team trophy. After four seasons with three teams, 96 league games and 11 goals, he moved to the end of his football career in the United States, where he spent two seasons with Dallas Burn active.
National
For the national team of his country, he played 62 times and scored five goals. He made his debut on 9 October 1985 in Copenhagen in the qualifying match of Group 6 for the 1986 World Cup in Mexico a 0-0 draw against the selection Denmark. He participated in the 1994 World Cup in the U.S. in part, scored in the group stage match on 22 June - 4-1 win over Romania - a goal and came in front to the last sixteen, which was lost to the selection of Spain with 0:3. For the 1996 European Championships, he was not considered by coach Artur Jorge.

Since 1998 he has as a football expert and commentator for Swiss television, and from 2008 was a consultant for the Swiss professional football club FC Winterthur.
In May 2011, Alain Sutter took over a position as a consultant at Grasshoppers Zurich. He takes a seat on the Transfer Commission and is the first stop for the head coach.
