Alain Wicki

Alain Wicki is a former Swiss Skeleton pilot.

Alain Wicki in 1983 in Igls Skeleton European champion and in St. Moritz behind Gert Alsatians and Nico Baracchi third in the World Championships. 1987 in Sarajevo, he was em - third, in 1988 he won the title at Winterberg for a second time. In the creation of the Skeleton World Cup, he was one of the most successful athletes in the early years. He won the first World Cup race at all, which was held in 1988 in Winterberg. In the overall World Cup, he finished second in that first season in second place behind Andy Schmid. In the following season 1988/89 he won all three World Cup races and therefore superior to the overall standings. In 1989 he won at the World Championships in St. Moritz gold. In 1998, he took the last time an active part in the World Championships in St. Moritz and won behind Willi Schneider silver.

National Wicki won his first title in 1982 at the Swiss Championships. The following year, he had to his longtime rival Baracchi beaten and finished second. His last title he won in 1988 and 1989.
