Alájar is a municipality in the Spanish province of Huelva and is located about 110 km from the provincial capital, Huelva.

Tourism

Of tourist interest is La Peña de Los Ángeles, a place of worship, to the beginning of May, it is a pilgrimage every year. Situated high above the village on a rock, you have a beautiful view over the valley. Previously, this look for the defense of the territory of military importance, which still bear witness to the small guardhouse. Due to the nature of the subsoil of sandstone, there are numerous underground caves. A smaller cave (not walkable ) hits just below the church of La Peña to light.

Others

  • Locals speak of their village often of "el culebra " ( The Snake) since the original development as a snake slithered through the valley. By additions in recent times, this is no longer visible.
