Alajuela Province

Alajuela is a province in the north of Costa Rica on the border with Nicaragua. It covers an area of ​​9754 km ² and has a population of 848 146 ( 2011). The provincial capital is also called Alajuela.

Neighboring provinces are (clockwise) Heredia, San José, Puntarenas and Guanacaste.
