Alaknanda River

The Alaknanda (or Alakananda; Sanskrit: अळकनन्दा ) is a river in the Himalayas in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, and one of the two main sources of the Ganges. The other main source river, Bhagirathi, is the longer of the two.
Overview
The Alaknanda rises at the confluence of Satopanth Bhagirath Kharak Glacier and Glacier in Uttarakhand. He meets at Devprayag after 190 km on the Bhagirathi. Main tributaries are the Mandakini, Nandakini and Pindar.
