Alan Bleasdale

Alan Bleasdale ( born March 23, 1946 in Liverpool, England ) is a British television dramatist. He is known for writing drama series based on the lives of ordinary people.

Life

In 1967 he received a teaching certificate. From 1967 to 1971 he worked at the Modern St Columba 's School in Huyton, then at the King George V School, from 1971 to 1974 at the Gilbert and Ellice Islands and at the Halewood Halewood Grange Comprehensive School in 1974-1975. From 1975-1986 he worked as a dramaturge at the Liverpool Playhouse and the Contact Theatre in Manchester.

His first successes came as an author of radio plays for the BBC. A character from the series was so successful that Bleasdale a play and wrote two novels and in 1978 Play for Today wrote. In the same year he wrote another piece. Bleasdale wrote in 1985 the book of the film No Surrender, a black comedy. He was responsible for more award-winning television dramas, including The monocle Mutineer ( 1986 BBC One), GBH (1991, Channel 4 ) and Jake 's Progress ( Channel 4, 1995).

After eleven years without appearance on the TV screens, he returned in January 2011 on BBC 2 with a two -part TV movie Laconia about the Second World War.

He is married to Julie Moses since 1967 and the couple have two sons and a daughter.
