Alan Longmuir

George Alan Longmuir ( born June 20, 1948 in Edinburgh, Scotland ) is a British musician. He plays electric bass, guitar and keyboard.

He is the son of a gravedigger and has two older sisters, Betty and Alice, as well as a younger brother Derek. They grew up in a very musical home. Together with his brother Derek and her cousin Neil Porteous they formed a band with the name Potias. At first he was still working as a plumber by the way. When Gordon Nobby Clark then came as a singer for the band, he concentrated entirely on the work of the band. From there, they called themselves The Saxons. Towards the end of 1960 they changed the name again, and called from now on Bay City Rollers.

In 1995 he had a heart attack and then suffered two years later another.
