Alan S. Kaufman

Alan S. Kaufman ( * April 1944 ) is an American psychologist. He is best known for the development of intelligence tests. He is married to psychologist Nadeen L. Kaufman. Both are working since 1997 on the Child Study Center in the School of Medicine at Yale University

In the years 1978 to 1979, he developed the original Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children (K -ABC). Among his other developments include:

  • Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement ( K-TEA/NU )
  • Kaufman letter Intelligence Test (K- BIT)
  • Kaufman Survey of Early Academic and Language Skills (K- SEALS )
  • Kaufman Adolescent and Adult Intelligence Test ( KAIT ) ( German adaptation: Kaufman test to measure intelligence for adolescents and adults )
  • Kaufman Short Neuropsychological Assessment Procedure (K -SNAP )
  • Kaufman Functional Academic Skills Test (K -FAST )

Kaufman is one of the representatives of the bell curve and signed the 1994 Declaration Mainstream Science on Intelligence.

He has a son named James C. Kaufman.
