Alan Webb (athlete)

Alan Webb ( born January 13, 1983 in Ann Arbor ) is an American middle distance runner.

Already in 2001, he remained in the mile run under four minutes. In 2004, he won the U.S. eliminator over 1500 m for the Olympic Games in Athens, but where he failed due to tactical error in the flow.

He was more than 1500 m U.S. champion in 2005 and finished at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki ninth place. After he had to cancel the 2006 season due to iron deficiency anemia, he showed in 2007 in top form. He won the national title over a mile in the hall and 1,500 m outdoors, broke the 25 -year-old North American record of Steve Scott in the mile run and was about 1500 m eighth at the World Championships in Osaka.

After it went less well for him in 2008 and he could not qualify for the Olympic Games in Beijing, he decided in 2009 to work with Alberto Salazar as a coach.

Alan Webb is 1,75 m tall and weighs 65 kg. He began in 2001 to study at the University of Michigan, he broke out a year in order to become a professional athlete.
