Alaska marmot

The Alaska marmot ( Marmota broweri ) is a socially living species of the genus marmots. His entire distribution area lies north of the Arctic Circle and is limited to the Brooks Range in Alaska. The body length of this species marble is between 40 and 50 centimeters. The body weight of an adult animal is between 2.5 and four kilograms. It is slightly lighter and smaller than that also belongs to the Arctic fauna Siberian Black Hat Marmot. Possible confusion exist primarily with the Arctic ground squirrel, but that is a bit smaller and lighter.

This marmot species holds a about nine months -long hibernation. It takes advantage of a different construction than in the summer months.
