Alastair Martin

Alastair Bradley Martin ( born March 11, 1915 in New York City; † 12 January 2010) was an American tennis player and President of the USTA.

Biography

Alastair Martin won nine times the tennis singles (1933, 1941, 1950-1956 ) and is ten time winner of the U.S. Amateur Championships double. Martin was 1969/70 President of the " United States Tennis Association " ( USTA ), at a time shortly after the start of the Open Era, which began in 1968. 1974 saw his induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
