Albanian horse

The Albanians, also called Mysekaja - horse is a small horse originating from Albania.

Exterior

The Albanians is predominantly brown in color, but all other colors are also represented. The Albanians is an oriental embossed horse with a short, strong back, sturdy limbs and hard hooves. He often falls into the ambling.

There are two different types. The larger type has a Height 135-140 cm and the smaller type to the 130 cm.

Interior

The Albanian Horse is persistent, tenacious.

Breeding history

Although the origin is Albania, there is a relationship with the Bosnians. The name refers to the Myzeqe level in central Albania. There have been many attempts by Italian breeders to refine the Albanians by Sardo -Arabian, Anglo- Arabian and Lipizzan. Also the mountain type should be improved by Haflinger. By the end of World War II, there were still about 70,000 horses in Albania both types. More recent surveys are not yet available.

The Albanians is mainly used as a support, riding and light draft horse.
