Albanian National Army

AKSh ( Armata Kombëtare Shqiptare; German: Albanian National Army, ANA, abbreviated ) is the Albanian name of a mainly active in Kosovo armed group. Members of this organization translated mainly continued the work begun by the KLA.

History

According to the AKSH it was incorporated in December 1999 after the dissolution of the KLA. Organization with (para- ) military structure known since 1999 for military guerrilla operations in Kosovo, Southern Serbia and Macedonia. Among the senior leaders of this organization, among other things, the name Naser Azemi, Gazmend Zeqiri and Feriz Deliu be called.

The group has ties to former members of the Kosovo Protection Corps ( KPC) and tries to reestablish the connection to several Albanian organizations.

The Serbian government believed that the AKSh preparing an invasion of southern Serbia and performs unlawful control of persons in different cities. Furthermore, in 2003 masked and armed men are said to have built a base in the control room Pej / Peć. KFOR organisms prove the allegations and rumors of the Serbian side again and again categorically rejected. Nevertheless, the end of 2002, two Kosovo Albanians, which are attributed to the group, accused and convicted of UNMIK. Them were accused, among other terrorism, incitement to racial hatred, participating in a terrorist organization, recruiting volunteers, and illegal possession of weapons and ammunition.

The relatively young group of Albanian separatists has as its stated primary objective, all the territories inhabited by Albanians in the Balkans to unite ( Ulcinj (Montenegro ), Kosovo, southern Serbia, Ilirida ( Western Macedonia ) ), which by wrong in their opinion demarcation of 1912 in the formation of State of Albania were left outside its borders. The command structure of the AKSH seems to follow the same strategy that the resolution in September 2001 Macedonian UCK already anwandte. This focused their actions on the inadequately guarded by the international security force KFOR along the border between Kosovo and Macedonia and recruited the necessary fighter in the Yugoslav province.

All agreements of the Ohrid Framework Agreement in the summer of 2001, which provide for an extension of the political rights of the Albanian minority in Macedonia, the AKSH declared irrelevant and made it clear that this agreement was not an obstacle on the way to a new Albanian state.

The organization seems to be through secrecy or use of pseudonyms outwardly completely shielded. For more stops the AKSH has taken responsibility in the past, for example, was for the attack on a railway bridge north of Mitrovica in April 2003. On 30 July 2003, the political leader of the FBKSH ( Frontit për Bashkim Kombëtar Shqiptar / Front for Albanian National Association ) Gafurr Adili, which is regarded as political leader of the AKSH / ANA, arrested in Albania. In November 2003, he was released because of unproven guilt. The then Secretary of FBKSH was later arrested in Germany and extradited to Albania and arrested there. In him no guilt could be proven.

On October 4, 2007, the public television station RTK Kosovo exuded a video that should show about a dozen armed AKSh fighters. The end of 2007 were patrolling the AKSh in northern Kosovo populated by Serbs in the area go. Since the declaration of independence of Kosovo, the grouping is hardly more have appeared.
