Albano buoy system

A Albano system is a buoy chain system that is used in Rowing and Canoeing at regattas.

The race track is selected on the entire length by a Albano system and allows the separation of the individual sheets. The buoys have in the chain a distance of about ten meters.

Named the Albano system is named after the Lake Albano (Italian: Lago Albano ) on which the Olympic competitions in rowing and canoeing were held at the Olympic Games in 1960. At the Olympic regattas, the system was first used internationally after the International Rowing Federation FISA had approved the proposal at its congress in 1959 in Mâcon. Since 1960, there are in all six major regattas marked paths in rowing and nine marked paths in canoe racing.
