Albany Devils

The Albany Devils are an American Hockey franchise from Albany, New York. It plays since the 2010/11 season in the American Hockey League.

History

The New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League moved following the 2009/10 season their previous AHL farm team, the Lowell Devils Lowell, Mass., to Albany, New York, where she since the 2010/11 season name Albany Devils participate in the game operation of the AHL. The resettlement was officially confirmed on June 6, 2010 by the New Jersey Devils on their website. In addition, the venue of the Albany Devils, the Times Union Center, modernized.

In Albany, the Albany Devils fill the gap that was created in 2010 by eliminating the Albany River Rats, who compete in the AHL under the name Charlotte Checkers.
