Albany is a city and the county seat ( county seat ) of the Shackelford County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city lies near the Countyzentrum, about 100 kilometers north of the geographic center of Texas, is located about 100 kilometers from Oklahoma to the north and has an area of 3.8 km ² without significant water surface.

History

The town was founded in 1874 and appointed zm the county seat on November 8, 1874. By County officials William Cruger the place wzrde after its former resident Albany ( Georgia) named.
