Albaranzeuli Nero

Albaranzeuli Nero is a red grape that is cultivated in the Italian region Sardinia. It is generally not extended varietal wine, but used as a blending partner. Although its cultivation is recommended in the province of Nuoro, the area under vines was in the 1990s with small 9 hectare.

Safely presume close that the vine was introduced from the Iberian Peninsula during the Catalan occupation from 1323 to 1713.

In Sardinia, the white grape Albaranzeuli Bianco is grown.

Ampelographic varietal characteristics

In the ampelography the habit is described as follows:

  • The shoot tip is open. It is only slightly hairy. The bright green young leaves are almost glabrous.
  • The large leaves are five-lobed and deeply sinuate ( see also the article sheet form). The petiole is lyres -shaped open. The blade is serrated pointed.
  • The drum-shaped grape is large and quite dichtbeerig. The roundish berries are medium in size and of a reddish- violet color.

The grape ripens about 30 days after the Chasselas and is one of the varieties of the middle third maturation period ( see the section in the article vine ). It is thus considered late maturing.

Albaranzeuli Nero is a variety of the noble vine (Vitis vinifera ). It has hermaphrodite flowers and is thus self-pollinator. When the wine-growing economic disadvantage is avoided to have no income supplying male plants grow.
