Albert Brenner

Albert Brenner ( born February 17, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York) is an American production designer and art director.

Life

Brenner studied at the New York School of Industrial Arts. After graduating, he worked as a Visual Merchandiser in New York, during the Second World War he served with the United States Air Force. After the war he attended the Yale School of Drama and then taught at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. From the mid- 1950s, he worked as an art director in television. His first feature film in 1961 as deputy art director participation in the classic film The Hustler with Paul Newman and Edward G. Robinson in the lead roles. Three years later, he was art director Sidney Lumet's thriller at target Moscow. Other important films of the 1960s include the burner action films Point Blank and Bullitt.

For his work as a production designer on the film comedy The Sunny Boys with Walter Matthau and George Burns in the lead roles burner in 1976 received his first Oscar nomination. Two years later, the second Oscar nomination for the film drama The Turning Point by Herbert Ross. He received another nomination the following year for the comedy film The California Suite. For the fourth burner Oscar in 1985 for the science fiction film 2010: nominated The Year We Make Contact, the fifth nomination in 1989 for girlfriends. Burner but never received an Oscar.

In addition to his filmmaking burner works as a sculptor.
