Albert Bunjaku ( born November 29, 1983 in Gjilan, SFR Yugoslavia, now Kosovo ) is a Swiss footballer of Kosovo Albanian origin. He plays the position of striker.

Career

Bunjaku came at the age of seven years with his family to his father working in Switzerland and lived henceforth in Fahrweid. Only at the age of 14 he joined the FC streaks in his first football club and changed some time later to the Grasshoppers Zurich before he lost the joy of football for some time. After half a year he began at SC Young Fellows Juventus again. While he played with the Grasshoppers as fullbacks, he was employed at the Young Fellows as a striker.

Bunjaku began his professional career at Swiss team FC Schaffhausen in the Challenge League, the second highest Swiss league. In the 2003 /04 season he joined the team as a table first in the Super League on. In the following year and a half, he completed 39 first division matches.

During the winter break of the season 2005/ 06 Bunjaku joined the German second division side SC Paderborn 07, where he played ten second league matches and scored one goal. Even after half a year he went to the third division FC Rot -Weiß Erfurt. There, he scored in 56 league games already 25 hits. In the 2007 /08 season he was able to achieve 16 goals in 28 games before a shoulder and upper arm injury ended the season prematurely for him. He gained popularity when he scored against FC Bayern Munich, 10 August 2008 as a substitute two goals in the first round of the DFB Cup. In the first half of the 3rd Liga 2008 /09 he scored nine goals, before he left the club.

On 2 February 2009 Bunjaku moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for 1.FC Nürnberg for 400,000 €. At the same time the Nuremberg striker Chhunly Pagenburg moved to Erfurt. It was never reported on whether the transfers are related. For the 2012/13 season Bunjaku moved free transfer on 1 FC Kaiserslautern. He was there a three-year contract and was appointed team captain. His start was very promisingly. He scored in the first four second-division games with four goals and also met in the first round of the DFB Cup once for the Palatinate.
