Albert Dess

Albert Dess ( born April 17, 1947 in Röckersbühl ) is a German politician ( CSU).

Education and work

After attending elementary school, vocational school and the agricultural college Dess was from 1972 to 1977 director of a farming cooperative. Since 1977 he has been in full-time employment as a farmer and worked since 1979 also of agricultural teacher. Since 1990 he is Chairman of the milk plants in Regensburg and since 1995 CEO of Bavaria eG.

Family

Albert Dess is married and has four children.

Party

Since 1963 he is a member of the CSU and first became involved in the Youth Union. Dess held various offices at all levels of the CSU. Since 1997 he is a member of the CSU Board.

Member of Parliament

From 1972 to 1996 Dess belonged to the council of his hometown Berngau.

In 1990 he was elected to the German Bundestag. Here he was from 1996 to 2004 a member of the Group Executive Board of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group and spokesman of the CSU party for Agriculture, Consumer, Environment and Conservation. On 19 July 2004 he retired from the Bundestag.

It belongs instead to the European Parliament since 2004. He is a member of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development and substitute member of the Committee on International Trade. As EVP - chairman of the Agriculture Committee, he belongs to the EPP Group Executive and has a central coordinating role in the Agriculture Committee.

Since 2009, Dess is a member of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development and the Delegation for relations with the countries of South Asia and in the Delegation to the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly in the EU Parliament.
