Albert Flamm

Albert Flamm ( born April 9, 1823 in Cologne, † March 28, 1906 in Dusseldorf ) was a German painter.

Life

Flame studied initially the building trades from 1836 to 1838 at the Art Academy Dusseldorf and Antwerp. He turned to painting in 1841 and was in Dusseldorf student of Andreas Achenbach, with his brother Oswald he concluded intimate friendship and several study trips to Italy, made.

Both have therefore much akin in all its direction. Flame was less brilliant and productive but extremely ambitious and capable. He painted almost only Italian landscapes that have been acquired through natural truth, shining color and virtuosic treatment recognition.

Flame married on October 19, 1860 Anna Arnz, a daughter of the publisher Heinrich Arnz and the sister of the painter Albert Arnz and Julie Arnz, who had married the painter Oswald Achenbach. He had a sister Charlotte (1820-1895), who worked as a still life paintings, and a son, Carl, who was a portrait painter.
