Albert H. Crews
Albert Hanlin Crews ( born March 23, 1929 in El Dorado (Arkansas ) ) is a retired colonel in the United States Air Force and a former USAF astronaut who graduated but no space flight.
Crews received in 1950 a Bachelor of Science at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Chemical Engineering and in 1959 a Master of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics at the Air Force Institute of Technology. He was selected on April 20, 1962 in the second group of Dyna- Soar astronaut and in the same year on September 20 Dyna- Soar as a pilot. In 1963, the Dyna- Soar project was completed and on November 12, 1965 Crews for the first group of astronauts of the Manned Orbiting Laboratory ( MOL) has been selected. In June 1969, the termination of the MOL project moved to NASA crews at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in the area of Flight Crew Directorate. He remained as a pilot at NASA and flew aircraft such as Super Guppy and Martin B-57 Canberra there. In addition, he worked at the Shuttle Avionics Integration Laboratory until his retirement at the age of 65 years.
