Albert Henry Payne

Albert Henry Payne ( born December 14, 1812 in London, † May 7, 1902 in Leipzig ) was an English steel engraver, painter and illustrator.

Life

Payne came at a young age to Germany. From 1839 he worked as a steel engraver, painter and illustrator in Leipzig. In 1845 he founded the publishing ET Brain British Art Institute, which he took over in 1846 alone.

The " publisher of the English Art Institute AH Payne " was dedicated to the steel and Kupferstecherei, published illustrated family journals and calendars, as well as music. The series Payne's small score edition was sold in 1892 to the Eulenburg music publisher.

Works

From Payne a bird's eye view of Bremen and two steel engravings of Bremen and Bremerhaven, which emerged after drawings by the painter and lithographer hamburger Johann Heinrich Sander (1810-1865) and in 1841 by Theodor von Kobbe ( 1798-1845 ) comes in his book walks along the North and Baltic Seas were taken.
