Albert IV, Count of Habsburg

Albrecht IV, Count of Habsburg ( * 1188, † November 25, 1239 in Ashkelon, called the manner of the kingdom ) was Count in Aargau and Frickgau, Lord of the Alod with Habsburg, Brugg, Bremgarten and Muri, Landgraf in the upper - Alsace and captain of Strasbourg and bailiff of the convent Säckingen.

Life

Albrecht was a son of Count Rudolf II of Habsburg and Agnes of Staufen. After the death of his father he shared with his brother Rudolf III. ( the silent one ) the inheritance.

1228 he erfocht in dagsburgischen inheritance dispute as captain of the city and the Bishop of Strasbourg 's victory Blodelsheim on the counts of Pfirt. Albrecht was a supporter of the Hohenstaufen.

Albrecht IV took part in the crusade of the barons and died during the fortification of the castle Ashkelon in 1240 of the plague.

Founding of the city of Waldshut
