Albert IV, Count of Tyrol

Albert III. ( Adalbert IV by other naming and numbering ) (* 1180, † July 22, 1253 ) was the last Count of Tyrol from the family of Tyrolean Count and Vogt of Trent. From 1210 he also was governor of Brixen.

Life

He was the son of Count Henry I of Tyrol ( † June 14, 1190 ) and the Noble Agnes of cheeks, daughter of Count I. Adalbero

When his father died, he was still a minor and only occurred in 1202 itself constantly. 1210 he was commissioned by bishop Konrad the advocacy of the Bishopric of Brixen and took over the former sovereign rights in nori and Eisacktal of the Counts of Andechs- Meranien who had lost this 1209 because of their ostracism in connection with the assassination of King Philip of Swabia.

Albert had no sons; therefore he put the inheritance rights of his daughters married and established his daughter Elisabeth († October 10, 1256 ) with Duke Otto II of Andechs- Meranien († June 19, 1248 ), his daughter Adelheid († May 26, 1279 ) with Count Meinhard of Gorizia († 1258 ) and graduated with his sons reciprocal contracts of inheritance. So he acquired in 1248 the Tyrolean possession of Andechs and in the same year to the counts of Appiano from the Castel d'Appiano.

1252 were Count Albert and Count Meinhard at grasping castle of Duke Bernhard of Carinthia and his son Philip of Spanheim Elect of Salzburg defeated and taken prisoner. Counter assignment important possessions in Upper Carinthia, ransom and hostage position of the two sons of Meinhard and grandson Albert, the two were released.

Albert died in 1253 and is buried in Stams. His legacy were his sons-in Meinhard and Gebhard IV of Hirschberg, the second husband of Elizabeth, at. ( Gebhard's marriage remained childless, so you could later acquire Gebhard heritage Meinhard's son of the same. )

Albert was (from about 1211 ) married to Uta von Hausen front -Lech Gemuend († 1254 ), daughter of Count Henry II († 1208). offspring:
