Albert Lavignac
Alexandre Jean Albert Lavignac ( born January 21, 1846 in Paris, † May 28, 1916 ) was a French musicologist and composer.
Life
Lavignac Antoine François Marmontel studied with François Benoist and Ambroise Thomas at the Paris Conservatory, where he later served as professor of harmony. He was known primarily for his music-theoretical writings.
His compositions, however, are largely forgotten, only to be Galop Marche for piano, eight hands is often listed.
