Albert M. Cole

Albert McDonald Cole ( born October 13, 1901 in Moberly, Randolph County, Missouri, † June 5, 1994 in Washington DC ) was an American politician. Between 1945 and 1953 he represented the first electoral district of the state of Kansas in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Back in 1909, Albert Cole to Topeka in Kansas. There he attended the public schools. Then he studied until 1925 at the University of Chicago Law. From 1927 to 1931 he was District Attorney in Jackson County; 1931-1943 he was Chairman of the Board of Governors of Holton.

Cole was a member of the Republican Party. From 1941 to 1945 he sat in the Senate of Kansas. In 1944 he was elected in the first district of the state in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, where he became the successor of William P. Lambertson on January 3, 1945. After three re- elections, he was able to complete in Congress until January 3rd, 1953 four legislative sessions. For the 1952 elections, he was defeated by Democrat Howard Shultz Miller.

Between 1953 and 1959 Albert Cole was employed as administrative head of the Housing and Home Finance Agency in Washington. From 1959 to 1970 he led several companies, from 1967 to 1990 worked as a lawyer Cole in the federal capital. There he is also deceased in June 1994.
