Albert Market

The Albert Market is a street market in Banjul, in The Gambia. The Market at Liberation Avenue, since the mid -19th century.

History

It is named after the Prince Consort Albert of Saxe- Coburg and Gotha, husband of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, The Gambia controlled during the colonial period.

1986, the Albert Market was largely destroyed by fire.
