Albert of Trapani

Albertus Siculus (* probably around 1250/1257 in Trapani; † around 1307 in Messina) is one of the saints of the Roman Catholic Church.

He was born the son of distinguished parents and joined as a boy at the Carmelite Order. To 1296 he was Provincial of the Order in Sicily. According to legend, he performed as a minister miracles and exorcisms be brought to a girl possessed by the devil that many Sicilians again turned towards more their faith. In 1474 he was canonized.

Albertus Siculus is the patron saint of Trapani and Messina, one of the patron saints of Palermo and patron of Böttcher. He is called in obsession, birth distress, infertility, and fever. He is represented with a cross and a chained devil. His feast day is August 7.
