Albert P. Morano

Albert Paul Morano ( born January 18, 1908 in Paterson, New Jersey, † December 16, 1987 in Greenwich, Connecticut ) was an American politician. Between 1951 and 1959 he represented the state of Connecticut in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Already in 1912, did Albert Morano with his parents to Greenwich, Connecticut. There he attended the public schools. Between 1933 and 1935 he was a member of the Tax Commission of that city. Between 1939 and 1940, served as assistant Morano of Congressman Albert E. Austin. Since 1942 he has worked in Greenwich in the real estate and insurance. From 1943 to 1947 he served on the staff of Congressman Clare Boothe Luce. Then Morano was 1947-1950 Commissioner for unemployment in Connecticut ( Unemployment Compensation Commissioner).

Politically, Morano member of the Republican Party. In the congressional elections of 1950 he was in the fourth electoral district of Connecticut in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of John Davis Lodge on January 3, 1951. After three re- elections, he was able to complete in Congress until January 3rd, 1959 four legislative sessions. This period was, among other things, the Korean War. In the elections of 1958 he was defeated by Democrat Donald Jay Irwin.

After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Morano was 1963-1969 employees on the staff of U.S. Senator Thomas J. Dodd. After he retired from politics and devoted himself to his private business. Morano Albert died on 16 December 1987 in his home in Greenwich and was also buried there.
