Albert Rivaud

Albert Rivaud ( born May 14, 1876 in Nice, † September 15, 1955 ) was a French classical scholar, philosopher and politician. He wrote numerous authoritative source editions, such as Plato. In 1908 he became a professor at the University of Poitiers. In 1927 he took over from Léon Brunschvicg the chair of philosophy at the Sorbonne. In 1940 he was briefly Minister of Education in France in the first cabinet of Henri Philippe Pétain.
