Albert S. Berry

Albert Seaton Berry ( born May 13, 1836 in Fairfield, Campbell County, Kentucky; † January 6, 1908 in Newport, Kentucky ) was an American politician.

Berry studied until 1855 at Miami University in Oxford (Ohio ) and then attended the Cincinnati Law School, where he graduated in 1858. Berry has now been added to the legal profession and began to practice as a lawyer. In 1859 he was prosecuting attorney of Newport. During the Civil War served in the Confederate Berry States Army.

In 1870 he became mayor of Newport and held that post for five terms of office of. In the years 1878 and 1884 he was a member of the Senate from Kentucky. 1892 Berry was elected as a Democrat to Congress and represented there on 4 March 1893 to 3 March 1901, Kentucky House of Representatives of the United States. One of the midterm elections in 1900, he was not nominated as a candidate.

After retiring from the House of Representatives Berry began to practice law. He later became a judge on the 17th Judicial District of Kentucky, an office which he held from 1905 until his death on January 6, 1908.
