Albert Stöckl

Albert Stöckl ( born March 15, 1823 in carrots, † November 15, 1895 in Eichstätt ) was a Catholic priest, professor and member of the German Reichstag.

Life

Stoeckl was the son of a teacher and made his studies at the Royal Grammar School and at the Episcopal Academy in Eichstätt in 1855 from the Faculty of Philosophy of the Julius -Maximilians -Universität Würzburg Dr. phil. doctorate. In 1848 he was ordained a priest and worked the first two years as a pilgrimage center in Wemding. In 1852 he became professor of philosophy at the Episcopal Academy in Eichstätt. In 1857 he moved to the chair of exegesis. In 1862 he was appointed professor of philosophy at the Royal Prussian Academy in Munster in 1871 and returned again to Eichstätt, where he was appointed canon and its former Chair resumed. He is the author of several philosophical and educational works.

Between 1877 and 1881 he was a member of the German Reichstag of the German Center Party and the electoral district of Middle Franconia 4 ( Eichstätt ).
