Albert von Bonstetten

Albrecht von Bonstetten (c. 1442/43; † around 1504) was dean of the monastery Einsiedeln and early humanist.

From the Swiss Baron family of Bonstetten arise, Albrecht von Bonstetten occurred no earlier than 1454 in the monastery of Einsiedeln. After studying in Freiburg and Basel, he was dean of the monastery in 1469. In Pavia, he studied canon law. In 1474 he was ordained a priest. 1498 he was appointed by Dr. Maximilian utriusque iuris.

Bonstetten wrote a number of historical and religious writings, mostly in Latin.
