Alberto Aquilani (born 7 July 1984 Rome) is an Italian football player. Since the 2012/13 season, the midfielder with Fiorentina is under contract.

Career

In the club

Alberto Aquilani comes from the youth work of AS Roma, where he was strongly influenced by Bruno Conti. His debut in the First team of AS Roma he gave on May 10, 2003, compared Torino Calcio. In the 2003 /04 season he played on loan with the U.S. Triestina in Serie B.

After his return to Roma Aquilani is developed for a regular player in the midfield and has been with the club three times Italian Champion and twice runner-up Coppa Italia winner.

In August 2009, Alberto Aquilani joined the English Premier League club Liverpool. 21 August 2010 Aquilani joined on loan for a season to Juventus. During the summer break in 2011 Aquilani moved to AC Milan. He signed with the Milanese a three -year contract until 30 June 2014, but was initially loaned for one season. His first game played Aquilani on Matchday 2 of the season on 9 September 2011 in a 2-2 draw against Lazio. His first goal for Milan he scored to make it 1-0 on Matchday 3 in the 1-3 defeat against Napoli.

For the 2012/13 season changed Aquilani to Fiorentina. He signed a three-year contract until 30 June 2015.

In the National Team

Alberto Aquilani went through the Italian national youth teams since the U -15 and completed a total of 65 youth caps for the Italian federation. In 2003 he was European Champion with the Italian U-19 selection in Liechtenstein.

After the 2006 World Cup Aquilani was appointed by Roberto Donadoni for the first time in the senior team. He made his debut on 15 November 2006 in a 1-1 draw against Turkey. He also belonged to the squad of Italy for the 2008 European Championship in Austria and Switzerland, where he was eliminated on penalties in the quarterfinals to eventual champions Spain.
