Alberto Ascoli

Alberto Ascoli ( born August 15, 1877 in Trieste, † 1957) was an Italian Serologe, hygienists and physiological chemist.

He studied in Vienna, Marburg an der Lahn and Pavia. The Doctor of Medicine was awarded to him in 1901 in Vienna and 1902 in Pavia.

He spent some time as an assistant at the Department of Obstetrics. He was deputy director of the Serotherapeutischen Institute in Milan.

The Ascoli - reaction for the detection of anthrax by Thermopräzipitation (compare precipitation ( Immunology ) ), that is, on the basis of prompt annular opacity with overlaying a filtrate from boiled Gewebspartikeln with the specific diagnostic precipitating serum.

Ascoli in 1954 was awarded the Antonio Feltrinelli Prize -.
