Alberto Franceschini

Alberto Franceschini ( born October 26, 1947 in Reggio Emilia ) was, together with Renato Curcio, Margherita Cagol and Mario Moretti a founding and leading member of the Italian left-wing terrorist organization Red Brigades ( Red Brigades ).

The Franceschini family was Communist: His father was arrested in the 1930s due to anti-fascist activities and his grandfather was one of the founders of the Italian Communist Party. From a young age he became a member of the Communist youth organization FGCI. Later he joined the Red Brigades. Franceschini was arrested on September 8, 1974 along with Curcio and was imprisoned until 1992.
