Alberto Marvelli

Alberto Marvelli - German: Albert ( born March 21, 1918 in Ferrara, † October 5, 1946 in Rimini ) was an Italian Christian Democratic politician, member of the Catholic Action and the Former pupils of the Salesians of Don Bosco.

As a child he was already in the Salesian Oratory of Rimini and came up with the local group of Catholic Action in touch. With only 18 years, he was elected president of the Italian Catholic Action. He worked in close conjunction with Luigi Sturzo and Primo Mazzolari, and a group of lay people who were led by Alcide De Gasperi.

In 1941 he completed his engineering education and started teaching at a school. During the war he campaigned especially for the poor, during the German occupation he saved many people from deportation to concentration camps.

Marvelli was influenced strongly Eucharistic.

After the war he was again elected to numerous positions. He died at the age of 28 in a traffic accident.

1986, the explanation of the Verehrungswürdigkeit, on 5 September 2004, the beatification by Pope John Paul II. His feast day is October 5.
