Alberto Nepomuceno

Alberto Nepomuceno ( born July 6, 1864 in Fortaleza do Ceará, † October 16, 1920 in Rio de Janeiro) was a Brazilian composer.

Nepomuceno studied in Paris, Berlin ( at the Stern Conservatory ) and Rome. Since 1895 he was organ teacher, since 1902 director of the Instituto Nacional de Música in Rio de Janeiro. In addition, he led the orchestra since 1896 the Society for Folk concerts.

He composed an opera, a symphony, a suite brasileira, a piano trio, piano pieces and songs.
