Alberto Puig

Alberto Puig, Catalan Albert Puig de la Rosa, ( born January 16, 1967 in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain ) is a former Spanish motorcycle racer and current team manager.

Puig rose in 1987 to Rieju in the 250 cc class in the motorcycle world championship one. During his World Cup career, he drove two seasons with a Yamaha, Aprilia and with a seven on a Honda. In 1994 he moved into the 500cc class and was able to win his first and only Grand Prix victory there at the Spanish Grand Prix of 1995. Overall, he went nine times on the podium. After the 1997 season, he finished his driving career.

Since 2010, Puig is Manager of Repsol Honda Team in the MotoGP class. He also works for the Red Bull MotoGP Academy, is considered as the discoverer of Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa and Toni Elías and manages Dani Pedrosa.
