Alberto Vargas

Alberto Vargas ( born February 9, 1896 in Arequipa, Peru, † December 30, 1982 in Los Angeles ) has become for his pin-up drawings famous.

From 1940, he excelled as a replacement of George Petty for Esquire pin-ups. Esquire prevailed that the "s" had to be omitted from Vargas. Thus, the Varga Girls have prevailed later. When Alberto Vargas Esquire then left later, it was forbidden to use the name Varga for future drawings.
