Albertville is a city in Marshall County in the U.S. state of Alabama and is part of the Huntsville - Decatur Combined Statistical Area. The current mayor is Carl Pruett.

In Albertville Mueller Company is established, which is a manufacturer of fire hydrants and therefore Albertville is also called " Fire Hydrant Capital of the World". The AHS Aggie Marching Band, who took part in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City in November 2007 for the fourth time, is also at home in Albertville.

Geography

Albertville is located about 90 km northeast of Birmingham, Alabama and about 70 miles from Huntsville on U.S. Highway 431, which leads in a southeasterly direction to Columbus, Georgia; Albertville has a total area of 67.5 km ², of which 0.3 km ² omitted ( = 0.38 %) to water.

History

The area was once inhabited by Cherokee Indians before they were expelled in the 1830s by force to Oklahoma. The Creek lived near the present city area.
