The Albertville -Realschule is one of two secondary schools in Winnenden in the Rems -Murr district, in Baden -Württemberg. She earned 2009 on regional awareness by the shooting rampage in Winnenden March 11.

The school was first called Realschule Winnenden I in the education center II and was renamed in 1980 after the twin city of Albertville in the French Alps in Albertville -Realschule.

At the Realschule, 2009, about 580 students are taught in 20 classes of 32 teachers. The school maintains since 1981 a student exchange with the Collège La Combe de Savoie Albertville and since 2007 with the Vörösmarty Mihály Gimnázium in Budapest.

On 11 March 2009 a 17 -year-old apprentice and former student made ​​a killing spree in which 16 people died in eight school students, a student and three teachers and three other people outside and the perpetrator.

By reporting on the rampage in the German media, the German Press Council dealt in May 2009. He saw in 13 cases the Press Code injured, criticized the violation of personal rights and sensationalism.

Due to the events of the lesson was first exposed for all classes, then resumed at six different locations. From 18 May 2009, all students could be taught together in a container village on the sports field again. The school building was completely renovated, partly rebuilt and enlarged. Since the start of the new school year on September 12, 2011 is again taught in the building. On 15 October 2011, the handover of the renovated school building and the 50-year anniversary of the school were celebrated.
