Albin Ekdal ( born July 28, 1989 in Bromma, Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish football player. He is an attacking midfielder and is available at Cagliari Calcio since 2011 under contract.
Career
Albin Ekdal graduated in 2005, at the age of 15 years, a successful trial with English club Chelsea. However, the following contract offer from the London club, he refused on the grounds that he would prefer to continue to develop in Sweden, from.
His professional career started Ekdal beginning of the season 2007 in the Fotbollsallsvenskan with his hometown club IF Brommapojkarna. In December 2007, Albin Ekdal decided matching media reports for a change to Italian giants Juventus. By the summer of 2008 he stayed in Sweden to make his secondary education and went on playing for Brommapojkarna. 23 May 2008 Ekdal signed a four year contract with Juventus. The club paid for him a transfer fee of 600,000 euros.
He played mostly in the Primavera, the highest step of the youth teams, with whom he won the prestigious Coppa Carnevale in Viareggio in 2009. His debut in the first team of Juve were Ekdal October 18, 2008 in the 1-2 defeat in Serie A away game at Napoli when he came on in the 75th minute for Christian Poulsen.
In the 2009/10 season Ekdal played on loan for AC Siena and rose with the Tuscans in the B series from. In August 2010 Ekdal Juventus finally left and moved to FC Bologna. However, the FC Bologna has only 50 % of the transfer rights.
In August 2011, separated the FC Bologna from Ekdal so that it moved to the league rivals Cagliari Calcio.
In the same month Ekdal debuted in the Swedish national team, as coach Erik Hamrén einwechselte him in a 1-0 victory over the Ukrainian national team in the 60.Spielminute for Sebastian Larsson.
