Albrecht Fölsing

Albrecht Fölsing ( * 1940 in Bad Salzungen, Thuringia ) is a German physicist and science journalist.

After studying physics in Berlin, Philadelphia and Hamburg, he worked as a research assistant at the German Electron Synchrotron DESY. From 1973 to 2001 he was head of the editorial Science / Nature / Environment NDR television and is responsible for science magazines such as " prism " on N3 and " images of science " or " globe " in the ARD as well as for scientific documentaries and wildlife films.

He wrote several biographies of famous physicists. For his biography of Einstein he conducted extensive research in German, Swiss, American and Jerusalem archives. 2003 awarded him the Institute of History of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Technology an honorary Doctor of Science as a recognition of his outstanding achievements in the history of science. His book The Mogelfaktor treated fraud in science.

His wife, Ulla Fölsing studied economics, sociology and political science, is a freelance journalist and writes among other things about science sociological or cultural history. She wrote, inter alia, a biography of Marie Curie and scientists who won the Nobel Prize.
