Albrecht Thaer

Albrecht Daniel Thaer ( born May 14, 1752 Celle, † October 26, 1828 on Good Möglin at Wriezen, County Oberbarnim, Brandenburg ) was Polywissenschaftler and is considered the founder of agricultural science.

Life

Thaer, son of a physician, graduated from the University of Göttingen medicine. In 1774, he returned as a doctor to Celle. Because of his success, he was personal physician to George III. , The Elector of Hanover. By the way he dealt with floriculture and agriculture. In 1780 Thaer was appointed to the Royal Agricultural Society Electoral. In 1786 he married Philippine Willich, daughter of Vice President at the Celler top of Appeals Georg Wilhelm von Willich.
