Albrecht von Graefe (politician)

Albrecht von Graefe ( born January 1, 1868 in Berlin, † April 18, 1933 in Goldebee; Complete name: Karl Albrecht von Graefe ) was a German politician ( DNVP, DVFP ) during the Weimar Republic. Graefe was the son of the famous ophthalmologist Albrecht von Graefe. To distinguish it called itself Graefe Goldebee.

Life and career

After graduating from high school in Berlin Joachim Thaler 1887, he studied at the university for two semesters Law and then joined the army, where he served in various hussar regiments until 1900. Already in 1899 he took over the ritterschaftliche Good Goldebee in Mecklenburg -Schwerin. In addition, he was an employee of the newspaper waiting in Wismar Mecklenburg. From 1896 to 1907 worked as a diplomat Graefe, including in Istanbul. In World War I he was, most recently as Major, battalion chief of the Emperor Alexander Guard Grenadier Regiment No. 1 and the Hunters Regiment No. 9

Party

Von Graefe, who had listened to the Empire of the German Conservative Party, 1918, participated in the founding of the DNVP. In the summer of 1922 he participated inter alia to Smudge with Reinhold and Wilhelm Henning founded on the foundation of the Nationalist Association in the DNVP, which left the party in December 1922, the Deutschvolkische Freedom Party ( DVFP ), chaired by Graefe until 1928. In other leaders of the DVFP he participated in the November 9, 1923 at the Hitler -Ludendorff Putsch in Munich, where he marched in the front row.

Member of Parliament

Since 1899, Graefe Rittergutsbesitzer was on Goldebee and as such until 1918 a member of the stalls tags of Mecklenburg -Schwerin. From 1912 to 1918 he was a member of the constituency Güstrow Ribnitz in the Reichstag of the German Conservative Party. After the November Revolution Graefe took the newly founded German National People's Party in 1919 in the Weimar National Assembly and from 1920 in the Reichstag. During the second term of the Reichstag of the Weimar Republic, he was a member of the National Socialist Freedom Party and after the decay of the compound of Nationalists and National Socialists to 1928 again a member of parliament for the DVFP. Then he retired from politics.
